This Certificate IV level disability course – CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability qualification is delivered in Parramatta. It reflects the role of disability support workers in a range of community settings and clients’ homes, who provide training and support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. Support workers promote a person-centred approach, work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this Certificate III in Individual Support Ageing at the time of publication. However, all students will be required to have a working with vulnerable people and police check before commencing work placement.

  • All electives from Group A must be chosen for ageing specialty.
    if not listed below, 1 unit may be from any currently endorsed Training
  • Package at Certificate III level or above OR any accredited course at Certificate III level.

Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the integrity of the AQF alignment and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.

All students must complete a minimum of 120 hours of work experience in a regulated aged care facility to be deemed competent for Certificate III in Individual Support Ageing.

    This course is currently delivered at Parramatta

Duration of the course is dependent on training delivery mode, individual experience and skills. Students are required to complete a volume of learning of 1200 hours comprising of guided learning, individual study assessments and work placement. Generally the course will take anywhere between 6 months and a year to complete.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows a person to receive recognition and credit for the knowledge and skills they have, no matter how and where they were attained, including overseas. This can include skills from previous study, work experience and life experience.

Capital Careers has an obligation to recognise Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by other registered training organisations

This aged care course, Certificate III in Individual Support Ageing, will be presented in competency-based mode and the student’s competency will be assessed at all levels according to competencies and performance criteria. The training package for each competency specifies the conditions and method of assessment. Assessment methods range from completing set tasks and activities, class attendance and participation and completion of assignments / projects.
